Living machines that possess organic rather than artificial intelligence no longer belong solely to the realm of science fiction. The idea of seemingly inanimate objects having consciousness has now been introduced to the mainstream news cycle with Jake Barber’s story of being “possessed” by the spirit of the octagonal spacecraft he was retrieving.
Twilight Lady, a graphic novel I wrote and illustrated several years ago, involves a journey to a realm where such phenomena is commonplace. Perhaps not that different from our reality, after all?
