Is the Light Really Winning?
Twilight Lady graphic novel by Blake Ju Chen

In the midst of a spiritual war, many will wonder: Is the light winning? But light does not equal good, nor does dark equal evil. Each universal force has a polar opposite – creation has destruction, feminine has masculine, yin has yang, water has fire, light has dark. These forces are locked in an eternal dance. When balance/equilibrium is achieved, good arises. When there is imbalance, evil/suffering occurs.

My first published comic, Twilight Lady, was a graphic novel about a being known as a goddess of divine justice, or vengeance. The Nameless Lady in the Hood, as she is called, is a Nemsiiki warrior. Such a being has to embody both light and dark, as souls seek her out of a gnawing need to regain parity in their existence. What she brings is karmic resolution, and the manner with which it is achieved is not always, shall we say, full of sweetness and light.

Who are your favorite heroes and villains, and what do they represent for you?
