VINE COMIC

Well, it’s been over 6 months…

… since Twilight Lady received its last donation.

Not that I’ve been keeping track. I only just checked. (It did seem like it had been awhile…)

I’ve been so busy making comics, too busy to ask for help. Time really does fly when you’re having fun.

And in that time, I’ve also come to a realization…

Twilight Lady: The Disappeared

by J.K. on June 6, 2013 at 12:00 am

Roughly six years ago, on a whim, I decided to embark on a little experiment – to make a comic that could be read on any monitor, even one as small as a phone screen. To achieve this, I figured each page would comprise of a single panel which fills the entire screen.

The result was the Twilight Lady story, “The Disappeared”. And it’s now available as a free download from Amazon, specially formatted for the Kindle (and, by extension, the Kindle app for tablets and smartphones).

Twilight Lady: The Disappeared

Here’s how “The Disappeared” looks on my HTC Android phone:

And on my near-obsolete 1st-gen iPad:

So there you go. Six years it took, from concept to execution. The comic was finished long ago, of course… it’s just taken awhile for it to appear in the format I originally intended, due to my inaptitude with technology and general slowness in executing ideas I dream up.

The Nameless Lady in the Hood is locked in a struggle to preserve her Senserealm existence and protect an otherworldly fugitive being pursued by a pair of relentless manhunters from beyond.

Life gets increasingly complicated for our favorite Nemsiiki warrior in a changing world where the terms “native” and “alien” no longer mean quite what they did in the past!

A Special Thank You…

… to Przemyslaw R. Dedelis, who has been the artist on Twilight Lady since the “Indwellers” story arc. Due to reasons both personal and professional, the current chapter (Part 1 of “The Way of the Ghost”) will be Przemyslaw’s last contribution to this series, at least for the time being.

I’d like to thank him for the fantastic work he’s done (and illustrating this comic is a lot of work, believe me) and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Twilight Lady now on Kindle

Twilight Lady ebook at Amazon.com

The very first Twilight Lady tale, “The Secret of Cass Corridor”, is now available as a 90-page digital graphic novel from the Amazon Kindle Store.

Love it or loathe it, Amazon is the world’s most popular, most visible storefront. So as a way of enticing curious souls into entering our speculative multiverse, I’d appreciate it immensely if those who have read “The Secret of Cass Corridor” were to post a review of the story on the book’s Amazon page.

Keep in mind that most folks reading the review will have never heard of Twilight Lady and are being introduced to the series for the first time, so you may wish to refrain from spoiling the “secret” that’s revealed at the end (which is, of course, common knowledge by now to us in-the-know types)…

Poll: Favorite Twilight Lady Villain

by J.K. on September 14, 2012 at 11:05 am
Posted In: News

As you may have gathered from our latest tale, the times they are a’changin’ in ol’ Senserealm. Revolutionary discoveries are being made, power and knowledge are up for grabs, forces ancient and new are at work.

Many have embarked on a dangerous race to harness these forces, some exercising great care and a sense of responsibility, others allowing their ambition, their hubris, to go unchecked, willing to trample over anything, anyone, in the way of their obsessive quest.

It is the latter group who have formed the major antagonists of our saga so far, the ever-expanding rogues’ gallery of our Lady Who Haunts the Dark. But which scoundrel has most unerringly captured your attention? Without further ado, here’s a list of prime candidates, along with the story they first appeared in, and a link to a scene featuring said villain:

1) Jason Kane (“The Secret of Cass Corridor”)
2) Eleanor Rigby (“The Secret of Cass Corridor”)
3) P.T. Shaw (“The Disappeared”)
4) Marjorie Dreyfuss (“The Disappeared”)
5) The Huntress Belahm (“Oblivion Symphony”)
6) Nobelay (“Dance of the Indwellers”)

Just to clarify, in regards to Nobelay – I’m referring to every incarnation of Nobelay that appeared in “Indwellers” (if you’ve read it, you’ll know what I mean… don’t wish to spoil anything for those who haven’t, so I’ll say no more).

Along with your vote, any comments as to the reasons that character got your vote would be much appreciated… and enjoyed by all, I’m sure!

(Poll expires Sunday October 14, 2012)

Who is your favorite Twilight Lady villain?

  • Eleanor Rigby (38%, 25 Votes)
  • The Huntress Belahm (24%, 16 Votes)
  • Nobelay (18%, 12 Votes)
  • Marjorie Dreyfuss (11%, 7 Votes)
  • Jason Kane (6%, 4 Votes)
  • P.T. Shaw (3%, 2 Votes)

Total Voters: 66
