   I believe the implication being that one is murder, another is killing or slaughter. One does not become a murderer for all of being a butcher, to put it crudely.

   I think Will It Work is right- it’s not killing, it’s murder. ‘Their own’ referring to humans killing humans.

   “He” only refers to a male person, “Hee” is the word for laughter! Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine.
