The Next Chapter…?

As I write this, “The Way of the Ghost” (Volume 5 of Twilight Lady) is reaching its dramatic conclusion, with 12 pages left.

What’s next? Well… work on Volume 6 has yet to begin and, in fact, things are a bit up in the air at the moment. There will likely be a (hopefully short) hiatus as I attempt to raise funds for the production of the next chapter.

You, dear reader, can help the cause by pledging towards this webcomic at Patreon. You can pledge any amount per month, even a penny. Once the total amount pledged by all patrons reaches $250 per month, that will enable us to start work right away on Twilight Lady Volume 6!

As a reward for pledging, patrons will gain access to the rest of the current storyline one update in advance, along with special material such as the upcoming Blood Professors – a new comic featuring a couple of characters who will be familiar to Twilight Lady readers. Here’s a sneak peek…

You will always be in control of what you contribute. It’s completely flexible. And you can cancel at any time. If you have any questions/concerns, I’d be glad to address them here. If they are specifically about how Patreon works, you can also read their FAQ.

Speaking of Twilight Lady…

How would you describe Twilight Lady to someone who’s never heard of it?

Anyone who’s tried? I’d be curious to know how it went.

In the past year, the visitor numbers for this site have kind of plateaued and, recently, begun to dwindle (after years of steady growth).

Help me reverse this trend. Today, or this week, tell someone you know about our Lady.

The most effective way to promote any creative venture is to simply talk about it. So let’s get people talking about the comic, about this being called the Nameless Lady in the Hood and her intriguing exploits.

And if you need ideas, an angle of approach perhaps, maybe we could brainstorm a little here…

Did you discover Twilight Lady…

… through a means other than an ad on another site? If so, please let me know how. It would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Relying on ads alone is a costly and ultimately unsustainable way to promote a webcomic (especially when the comic itself isn’t making any money), and I am looking to find other ways of helping people discover Twilight Lady.

Twilight Lady Artist Appreciation Thread

by J.K. on November 20, 2013 at 12:00 am
Posted In: News

If you’re enjoying the work of current Twilight Lady art team Jorge Mongiovi (pencils and inks) and Erick Arciniega (colors), now’s a good time as any to let them know.

I realize it’s a human tendency to praise more in hindsight. During our previous artist Przemyslaw Dedelis’s stint, the majority of reader comments re: artwork were about how much they missed the original CG style. Interestingly, once Przemyslaw left, I started seeing more comments from people who liked what he was doing and… missed that. (See the pattern here? It would have been great to have appreciated him more while he was around.)

Similarly, I never really knew how much folks dug the CG art until I stopped making it (I do appreciate the many kind words I’ve gotten since).

Anyway, that’s all in the past. This thread is about the present, and what a great job Jorge and Erick are doing right now. They are still hard at work on the current chapter/storyline, and it would be cool to give them a bit of a boost.

Feel free to let either or both of them know. Which brings me to… why is this a combined thread? Surely each deserves his own? Well, I didn’t want to embarrass them too much… 😉

Nameless Lady in the Hood

It’s that time of year again. For those with a pioneering spirit when it comes to flights of costuming fancy, I’ve compiled a list of items that would instantly transform one into a legendary Nemsiiki warrior – the Nameless Lady in the Hood.

So who is “Miss Howard” anyway?

Miss Howard

Readers of Twilight Lady will come across a couple of familiar names and faces in Vine… one of them being a certain “Miss Howard” who also appears in the current TL storyline, “The Way of the Ghost”.

The Miss Howard you meet at the beginning of Vine, however, has yet to encounter any “bat-eared slimeballs”… and would not know “Nemsiiki” from “Namaste”.

The way she winds up expanding her horizons is one of the key threads in this new series.

Our Lady’s new guest…

Hey, folks! An announcement…

For the next few weeks, this site will feature a preview of Vine, a comic series set in the same universe as Twilight Lady.

This 8-page preview will run concurrently with the latest TL storyline. New comic updates are still Sundays-Tuesdays-Thursdays, but the updates will now alternate between Twilight Lady and Vine.

Does this mean you will get less Twilight Lady? NO. Though the wait between updates will be longer, you will get more comic (a full page) each update!

To avoid confusion, the main homepage will default to this news blog instead of the latest comic. To view the latest update (of either series), just click on the LATEST COMICS link at the top of the left sidebar (below the menubar).

That’s all simple enough, I hope. Any questions?
